Michelle Malinowski, DVM
Dr. Michelle Malinowski (Barnett) was born and raised in Niles, Michigan. She received her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice at Michigan State University while completing the Army ROTC program. After graduation she commissioned into the Army as an officer in Aviation. She spent nearly a decade flying Apache Helicopters as a platoon leader, company commander and operations officer. Michelle always had a strong love for animals, so she decided to leave the Armed Forces to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a focus on Small Animal and Exotic Medicine. Her addition certifications include WAVMA CertAqV (World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association-Certification to treat Aquatic Animals), ARAV certified member (Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians), AEMV (Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians) member, Fear Free Level 2 Certified, and Recover Certified (Basic and Advanced Life Support).
In her spare time she enjoys adventures with her battle buddy, Athena the Belgian Malinois. Michelle also loves spending time with her cat Optimus Prime, and two ferrets Rocket and Nebula.
