Melea Smith, DVM

Dr. Smith was born and raised in the little town of Bonifay FL and graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2025. She grew up on and tended to a small hobby farm with many different types of fowl, goats, cats, dogs, reptiles and parrots which fostered her love of animals. She also worked as a veterinary assistant while pursuing her bachelor’s in animal science at FAMU. Her dream of becoming a veterinarian was rooted in her love of science, medicine, and her experiences of providing medical care to her animals on the farm. To her, working with animals didn’t feel like work, and now she’s excited for the career ahead of her! In her free time, she enjoys hiking and doing all things outdoors with her 3 dogs as well as lazy days on the couch with her cat.
