Destin Animal Clinic: Missed Appointment, No Show, & Late Cancellation Policy

Our goal is to provide quality, individualized medical care in a timely manner. No-shows, late shows, and cancellations inconvenience those who need access to veterinary care. A veterinary/client relationship (VPCR) is built on mutual trust and respect. We strive to be on time for your scheduled appointments and ask that you give us the courtesy of a call if you are unable to keep your appointment.

As a courtesy to our clients, we provide a reminder call the day before your appointment. However, you are responsible for remembering your appointment.

Missed Appointments Policy

A missed appointment occurs when:

  • The appointment is not cancelled more than 24 hours prior OR
  • The appointment is missed completely without notice.

Late Cancellations

A cancellation is considered late if the appointment is cancelled without at least 24 hours advance notice.

Cancellation of an Appointment

To be respectful of the medical needs of other patients, please call our office promptly if you are unable to attend your appointment. This time will be reallocated to a patient in need of treatment. If you need to cancel your scheduled appointment, please call at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments are in high demand, and your early cancellation will allow another patient access to timely veterinary care.

How to Cancel Your Appointment

  • Phone: Call 850-837-2931.
  • Voicemail: If you do not reach a receptionist, you may leave a detailed message on our voicemail. If you would like to reschedule, please leave your name and number, and we will call you back promptly.

Appointment No Show Policy

A “no show” is when a client misses an appointment without cancelling it. Failing to be present at the time of a scheduled appointment will be recorded on the patient’s chart as a “no show.” This also includes arriving 10 minutes or more after your scheduled appointment time.

  • 1st “No Show” or Late Cancellation: Warning (no charge)
  • 2nd “No Show” or Late Cancellation: Charged the cost of an office visit
  • 3rd “No Show” or Late Cancellation: Termination of services at Destin Animal Clinic
